A few weeks ago, I decided to head off to the US (for the first time ever!) to visit some family and friends.  It was definitely, a well deserved break that I was desperately in need of...

When I arrived to America, it felt like a whole other planet. 

People were super friendly, the food was absolutely amazing (you can literally find all types food from so many different cultures) in HUGE portions!

When the Light Creeps In| Lookbook

As winter creeps in and the weather become gloomier, the colours we wear become darker and darker. The feeling of being alive and in the moment is what we're trying to portray in this photo.

For this look, we decided to go for intense colours- black, dark purple, and burgundy; to express how dark and cloudy people can feel in their minds but sparkly and beautiful from the outside.

Vintage 1940s Inspired Lookbook

While raiding Ayah's wardrobe, we found this cute little denim tea-dress, and we were inspired to do a 1940's style lookbook.

To achieve this style, we curled the hair and pinned it slightly back. For makeup we went for a winged eyeliner, whilst keeping the rest quite classic with a pink lip.
The gloves were an impulsive addition, we wanted to add a little bit of class (and let's be honest, it's just fun to wear long gloves!). We decided on simple black flat shoes because we couldn't find a heel to suit the look!

This photoshoot was so much fun to do! It involved a lot of trotting back and forth as we tried to get good 'natural' action shots, as well as ignoring the strange looks we got from people driving past!

As we said, it's only a Vintage Inspired look, so forgive us for a bit of poetic licence in our historical accuracy!

How to: Hair Bow Hairstyle!

You will need:

1) A Hair tie (or two depends on how thick your hair is!)

2) Bobby Pins

3) Your beautiful smile 

Step 1:

- Pull your hair up in a bun.

Step 2: 

- Make sure you leave out a small section of your bun outside.

Step 3: 

- Split your bun into two halves.

Step 4:

- Take the small section that's been left out and pull it backwards in between the halves.

Step 5: 

- Secure the small section that's been pulled backwards with bobby pins. 

Also, use bobby pins to secure the two halves to make them look perfect!

and Voila! You got the finished look!

Optional: You can also put hairspray if you want the look to last longer!

Review: Cocoa Brown Tan

Sooo a little while back we were contacted by the lovely people at Cocoa Brown Tan and asked if we would review their product for you guys and of course we said yes!

I will be honest: I was so nervous to use this! I had never ever used any tanning products before and I was so scared that I would turn out like a streaky orange. I researched like crazy before trying it and decided to do it on a week when I wasn't reeeally busy, in case I needed to hide away until it washed off...

But, my fears were completely unnecessary! I didn't look at all streaky and it was actually pretty fun to do! The product smells really floral and clean so it was a nice experience to be putting it on! It also comes out as a darkish brown foam colour which you can then blend into the skin. This means that you can see where you're putting it as you do it!

The product didn't feel sticky when it went on and smoothed really nicely. It also left my skin feeling refreshed and moisturised which was a really nice quality to have.

I am hoping to give the product another try in the future (and Ayah is going to give it a go as well, so you can have a well-rounded view from each of us!) and if I did I would definitely use a bit more. I think I may have been a little hesitant with the product because I didn't achieve a strong tan. I guess my advice would be to really give it a go and see what works best for you, I am mega pale so I think I should have been a bit more generous with it!

Having said that- a couple of people did comment that I was looking 'well' and, it made me feel a little bit fancy!

Most importantly: there were no negative affects with my sensitive skin! I tested it a couple of days before and then again the day before and nothing at all! It was safe for me! For anybody wanting a quality and safe tan (keep away from sunbeds guys) then this is a really nice product.

I'm not much of a tanner but I would definitely go with Cocoa Brown Tan again! I really want to test it out again and I'd definitely risk putting a little bit more on to see if I can get a stronger tan!

Blue Waves Inspired Lookbook

We LOVE artsy creative photos! Soo we decided to create this beautiful blue waves inspired look!

The makeup is inspired by beach waves and the colour they reflect especially in the summer! We wanted to go for something a little different from our street style lookbooks and it's so refreshing to change things up a little and be a little crazy sometimes!! 

As you can possibly see, it was a bit of a windy day so perfect for a moody nature-inspired fashion shoot! Sometimes you really have to take advantage of your surroundings as fashion bloggers!

For the hairstyle, we went with a messy, chic look; which we felt emphasized the style we were going for, taking inspiration from the tumbling waves of the ocean with some twists and backcombing. If you toned down the backcombing a tad this hair style could be a reeeally nice look for a classy night out!

Inspiration of the week '15

Over summer everyone can get a little bit sluggish- you're out of class, your friends are on holiday and you find yourself doing the same old things and getting a little bored. Well, we thought it would be a good idea to think about some of the people that inspire us to give you a little bit of inspiration for your week!

Niga Higa is one of my favourite youtubers! I absolutely love the way he puts so much effort into all his videos. His creativity really shines through his work! He genuinely makes me laugh
Nowadays, many youtubers publish content because they have a certain schedule and have to follow that; but Ryan Higa posts when his videos are ready. This emphasizes how quality is more important than quantity. Also, his ideas are pretty genius and funny!

I am totally inspired by Tavi Gevinson. I started reading her magazine Rookie a couple of years ago and I always found it to be so thought provoking. She's brave, intelligent, caring, creative and beautiful and she is so going places! She inspires me in my personal life and as a blogger as well!

Great Lash Maybelline Mascara REVIEW!

Maybelline are famous for their mascaras! And this one will defo be added to *best Maybelline Mascaras*

First of all, the wand is not too big nor too small, it's the perfect size. The definition it gives my lashes is impeccable! One layer of it is more than enough for me, which is great since I usually put two layers of mascara to give it the effect of false lashes.

This is best for everday use because it's not too over-the-top, but it can be built up for a night out and also, it works soo well with a smokey eye look since it adds so much dimension!

One downside is that if you're a bit too heavy-handed with the mascara and put too much on then it'll clump up quite a bit (but what's new really?) so just keep an eye on how much you're putting on!

The packaging of the bottle is SO PRETTY. 

PS. Who knew green and pink look so gorgeous together? I feel like a big factor that influenced me to buy this product is the packaging. Don't youu think it's really creative? 

It's affordable which is perfect for students who want quality but without the hefty price tag!

Would I recommend it? Yes, yes I totally would!
